Bailo has just over 250 registered residents. ACURBA is a non-profit cultural association, and the people who prepare the costumes, set up the encampment or cook the migas for the royal banquet do so as volunteers.

The Re-enactment is completely free: the only paid part is the dinner, and its price covers the cost of the food with no mark-up.

As in so many other villages in the Aragonese Pyrenees, keeping something like this going, with fewer hands each year and without the budget of a large city behind it, is a small act of resistance. We do not mean that dramatically: it simply costs money, and every contribution, however small, helps us keep the Re-enactment going from one edition to the next.

To be completely clear and transparent: the Re-enactment receives grants from the Comarca de la Jacetania and the Government of Aragón, but they are very limited. No one is trying to make money from this; quite simply, the more resources we have, the more we can organise - more activities, more artists, more performers - so the festival can keep growing.
