The route
PR-HU 157 Route
The Holy Grail Hiking March is a sporting event separate from the theatrical re-enactment: it follows on foot the route that tradition attributes to the Grail between Bailo and the Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña.
The trail, officially approved by the Aragonese Mountaineering Federation, is known as the “Holy Grail Trail” and has a slightly longer variant via Arbúés. It is a mountain route with significant elevation change, so suitable hiking equipment is recommended.
The route
The trail links Bailo (red marker, west) with the Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña (green marker, east), crossing the Protected Landscape of San Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel. The exact route is marked on the ground with the white-and-yellow waymarks used for short-distance trails.
