The 12th Holy Grail Hiking March took place in Bailo on 3 October 2026. Route, programme, official poster and the waymarked PR-HU 157 trail.

On Saturday 3 October 2026 Bailo hosted the 12th Holy Grail Hiking March, which recalls the Holy Grail's journey from the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña to Bailo.
The edition was sponsored by Ecoamiant, with the collaboration of Supermercados Alto Aragón, the Gobierno de Aragón, the Ayuntamiento de Bailo and the Entidad Local Menor de Larués. The organisers thank them for their support, and everyone who took part in and helped with the day.
The route
A new route, two distances
After the fire that affected the area, the organisers laid out a new route for this edition for safety reasons:
Bailo - Santa Bárbara - collada Xavier - Pardina Pequera - Bailo.
Two distances were offered. Both set off together from the church in Bailo, shared the three aid stations and finished in the town hall square:
- Short Walk: after the third aid station it headed straight back to Bailo.
- Long Walk: after the third aid station it carried on east, past Villar de Barria and the Arbués dam, before returning to Bailo.
Each route can be shown or hidden on the map; the numbers mark the aid stations.
The tracks of both routes are still available in KML format, which works with Google Earth, Wikiloc and most hiking apps.

- Street parade through the village by Os Fillos do Sobrarbe.
- Guided tour of the Holy Grail exhibition.
The trail
PR-HU 157 Route
The trail, officially approved by the Aragonese Mountaineering Federation, is known as the “Holy Grail Trail” and has a slightly longer variant via Arbués. It is a mountain route with significant elevation change, so suitable hiking equipment is recommended.
The route
The trail links Bailo (red marker, west) with the Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña (green marker, east), crossing the Protected Landscape of San Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel. The exact route is marked on the ground with the white-and-yellow waymarks used for short-distance trails.
